Finally, and consistent with our tradition of being late, the schedule for the 2006 Jet Boat World Championship is now defined.
This will be 5 day race on the Balsas River.
Race starts at Ciudad Altamirano, Guerrero. Schedule is as follows:
Saturday, October 28th: On the evening, draw to determine starting times
Sunday, October 29th: 1st and 2nd legs: Upstream from Ciudad Altamirano to Caracol and back. Total distance: 270 Km (170 miles), with refueling at Caracol
Monday, October 30th: Day Off (Or possibly a leg upstream the Cutzamala river, depending on flow conditions)
Tuesday, October 31st: 3rd Leg: Altamirano to San Jeronimo. Distance: 105 km (65 miles)
Wednesday, November 1st: 4th. Leg: San Jeronimo to la Villita. Distance: 160 km (100 miles)
Thursday, November 2nd: 5th. Leg: Ocean Circuit at Zihuatanejo. Distance: 65 Km (40 miles)
The organizers will provide a truck to transport fuel to Caracol.
UIM rules will apply
Classes: U, A, B, and Sport Jet
FX class is invited, but no world title will be awarded to this class.

Anybody looking for a CDL truck driver or help out on a team let me know I can now look and see if I can get the time off from work.You can contact me at mwjsone@yahoo.com I can also bring the kid(25) next door he is from that area and speaks english and spanish but has spent most of his time here around Chicago.

6. TROPHIES AND PRICES:
80% of the total amount registration fee’s of each participating classes, will be given as price in cash to the first three winning drivers from each specific class: 50% for the World Champion, 30% for the second place and 20% for the third place.
In the case that one or more of the participating classes, doesn’t register at least 4 boats, the cash prices will be given using this system:
3 participating boats: 50% for the winner and 30% for the second.
2 participating boats: 50% for the winner.
1 participating boat: No price will be given.

So, when is the Canada team leaving south??
As usual, there has been some changes in the schedule posted above. Please take note:
Security Inspection to be held on Friday, October 27th.
Race starts Saturday, October 28th
Saturday, Oct. 28th: Altamirano to Caracol and Back, 270 Km w/ refueling
Sunday, Oct. 29th: Altamirano to Cutzamala to San Jeronimo, 170 Km w/refueling at Cutzamala
Monday, Oct. 30th: San Jeronimo to Altamirano
Tuesday, Oct. 31st: Day off
Wednesday, Nov. 1st: Altamirano to San Jeronimo to Lazaro Cardenas, 280 Km w/refueling at San Jeronimo. You must carry cables to lift / hoist the boat at Infiernillo dam
Thursday, Nov. 2nd: Circuit races at Lazaro Cardenas
Friday, Nov. 3rd: Circuit races at Ixtapa
