Finally, and consistent with our tradition of being late, the schedule for the 2006 Jet Boat World Championship is now defined.

This will be 5 day race on the Balsas River.

Race starts at Ciudad Altamirano, Guerrero. Schedule is as follows:

Saturday, October 28th: On the evening, draw to determine starting times

Sunday, October 29th: 1st and 2nd legs: Upstream from Ciudad Altamirano to Caracol and back. Total distance: 270 Km (170 miles), with refueling at Caracol

Monday, October 30th: Day Off (Or possibly a leg upstream the Cutzamala river, depending on flow conditions)

Tuesday, October 31st: 3rd Leg: Altamirano to San Jeronimo. Distance: 105 km (65 miles)

Wednesday, November 1st: 4th. Leg: San Jeronimo to la Villita. Distance: 160 km (100 miles)

Thursday, November 2nd: 5th. Leg: Ocean Circuit at Zihuatanejo. Distance: 65 Km (40 miles)

The organizers will provide a truck to transport fuel to Caracol.

UIM rules will apply

Classes: U, A, B, and Sport Jet

FX class is invited, but no world title will be awarded to this class.

Anyone interested in coming down, or in need of more information or help, please post a reply and I will follow up.

The fun part of racing in Mexico is that there is always some surprise....
