Hi,
My vent fitting in my bow tank was put a little too close to the drawer housing and I guess the vibration has caused the fitting to leak. The previous owner had put some kind of goo around it to seal it but it has not worked. I was wondering if there was a better way to fix this ?

Not sure about the boating world, but on airplanes we used to use JB WELD to do minor repairs to fuel tanks and stuff. Seemed to work because the fuel wouldn't eat through it... Piston Airplanes so it was Leaded Gasoline too.
Maybe worth a shot?

| If it were me, I'd remove it a epoxy a plastic patch over the hole, the relocate it to a new spot.

clean it well and if it is steel , solder it with an iron--no flame.
If it is aluminium, JB weld like someone said
