Is anyone using the 540 or the the Hardcore 632 engines. The 540 seems to be the cheeper way to go compared to the ZZ572. I need info

JR, that engine has not turned one revolution in anger yet. It will be running for new season starting in January. It's only a small block, but it is 540 cubes. I understand the largest small block ever built. If I had a spare couple of hundred "k" I'd buy one for my lounge. It's an amazing engine!

That skinny-assed belt in the second picture is his spare that got him to the trailer that day !

Like my Dad says, it's just a Pony motor !
He's been a Catapiller Endloader operator most of his life and that used to be the little motor that started the big Diesel motor on the old Cat's.
Seriously, that little motor is like the Energizer Bunny, I change oil and put gas in the tanks once in a while. Those big motors, at least mine use about 5 gallons of 105 octane fuel a mile ! And go through valve springs and bearing a couple times a summer if you're very lucky. Not to mention the polish and wax.
Anybody can go Fast in a straight line, just hammer down and hold on ! All it takes is Cubic $$'s.
But that little ZZ4 in an Aluminum boat at 70 mph running up a Beaver Creek thats 10 foot wide is a thrill most people will never experience.
But I do have some SBC pieces for a little more HP !
The speed getting from one creek to the next is still fun too.
Like Wilson says' Wisdom chases me, but I'm faster.....
