I don't think they have all that fancy internet stuff in that village yet Dave.
A person will probably have to wait and hear about it from word of mouth, you know that works. Would have been a wet day for racin there i'm guessing today though.

Aquaholic has a few scars from the last leg - driver & navigator are o.k. all caught on video by our cameraman in the chopper, you're gonna want to buy this one!
Huge thank you goes out to our sponsors, timing crew, volunteers, GP River Rats and everyone who helped make the race a huge success. Now on to Peace River...

We had no rain at all and only some wind on Sunday and it was mostly at our heals. The organizers did an amazing job this year again and the support boat network was a well oiled(or margarettaed) machine. Brad as race captain was perfect. We had a great race and are pumped for Peace River after we fix a few dents.

On Sat they had a broken wing and a little damage from the first leg up to smokey flats. on Sunday I heard that they had some engine trouble but I am not sure. Don't worry you are still the only one that has been able to sink on that course . Tim Greber is probably still dissy from spinning 360's on the rocks though. Apparently it was all caught on film from the chopper with a quick interview right afterwards. Can't wait to see that one. You should see the boat

Doc, we started out Saturday with engine issues, rpm's down, speed also down. Couldn't find a reason for it. Running up the Smokey took a seemingly harmless hop off a roller and stuffed the nose in. Boat submarine'd then hooked and bounced sideways, hard!! Caved the bow side in...deck & left side is also bent. Filled up with water, was very close to sinking. Motor hydraulic locked. Paddled to shore and was able to get restarted after about 10 minutes.
Worked that night trying to find the problem. Sunday engine was back firing and running really rough. Engine died 1/2 mile off the start line. Got restarted, but quit again. Eventually limped it back to the trailer and took a DNF and DNS. Appears to be an electrical issue.
All part of racing, eh!
Good job by the GP club putting on the race. We had a fun time.
oh...and cant forget to mention the three topless females, jumping up and down, cheering on the racers as we went by.

Mark,
Thanks for the kind words, it is easy to run a good race with all the excellent help we had from top to bottom. Carey, I will see if I can get a scanned copy of the times posted for everyone, it would be slow work entering it all with my one finger method!!
I would like to point out a couple of candidates for the unsung heroes award and it would be to Tim and Brian Wilmot for getting the timing program tuned up and running so well for us. This was done over many countless hours of testing all possible scenarios by both guys, and it will benefit all of us from the officials to the racers to the fans, including the topless girls!
Hats off to all crews, as well as their families, who know that we work as hard as we do for little more than having a good competition amongst good people. The monetary rewards are small but the friendships last forever!
Next up, the Gold Cup!!

Thanks to the folks in Grande Prairie. Again a job well done.
Tim looked a little shaken and stirred. Glad he's ok.
If you are coming to the gold cup, make sure you get your boat entered before July 1 to save yourself 100 bucks (that equals about 4 cases of beer I think)
I also need some driver profiles. See the Race and Rally Events section for more info.

Just wanted to give a big thanks to Brad,Jesse,Brian and everyone else for all the hospitality and understanding with our gong show lol! Risky Business is back to life and running strong so hopefully ready for peace river.Timing, jetting, impeller and spark plug boot along with a overfilled reservoir(covered the motor in oil hence the cloud of smoke following us)brains sleeping and not showing up a day early for set up. The pre run went good though lol!Going to definitely be ready for GP next year I really liked the wapitie and smoky some shallow stuff, some twists and turns, some rollers and beautiful scenery all make the GP races a jet boaters favorite for sure!Once again thanks for everything!!!
When in doubt,hammer down!
