I saw some pics of the 4 feet of fresh powder McMurray got! How are the rivers looking? If memory serves by this time normally lots of boating going on already no?

Hey Trafford
Nt open as of yet. Some open water at Grand Rapids and The Cascades, but still solid every where else. Even in Athabasca...
This is the latest I've seen it go out in a long time.
I'm expecting that this weekend when all of this snow melts, there will be a pretty big push of warm water behind it and it'll take the ice out with it...
Bring it on!!!

With all the water and a late break up maybe you will be able to jet boat from KFC down to the boat launch this spring?

Hey...
Now there's a Blast from the past....
I remember that flood. You were a little young to remember all of that, Jim... How old were you in 76??
We were one of the rescue boats, plucking people off the roofs of those very trailer's...
That flood happened at night, and people had no warning at all....
Let's hope we don't have a repeat of that one...

That picture was taken in 77...which made me 11. Could have water ski'd down parts of Franklin that year...its seems like every 20 years or so between big ones, should be alright for 9 or 10 more?

Two quick questions
1) Where is Shell landing exactly?
2) Is it safe to leave your truck there for several days?

Shell landing is north of Syncrude across the bridge to nowhere...people use it to shorten the trip to the firebag, Richardson and the big lake. As far as parking for several days there never used to be an issue? Although I parked over night at mocassin flats a couple years ago and had about $7500.00 worth of damage to my crew cab when I got home in the morning...
The only issue I have ever had at Shell landing was after it rained or snowed...its pretty steep and can get very slippery if its wet!

It's running in Atha-B....I asked a guy from the town to clean the launch off, so now all we need is the ice chucks to stop floating.....should be on this W/E.

Hey Jim:
No movement up here yet...I can't believe it...this is the longest it's taken in a long time. Got the new boat in the drive way, and it's driving me nuts.
I'll be posting some pics of the final product this week...The boys did an awsome job on it....OUTLAW ROCKS....
I'll keep you posted on the river break up...

I think it went out early this morning, I'm not positive, as to the exact time, but it just don't matter.....
