Arthur O T R,
My copy is getting worn out from the recent use as my new "training video".
Watching, while running on the treadmill. Hey! I'm almost down to my 2007 race weight. (puff puff) not!! (The Navigator? no comment)
Dammmm...there are a lot of rocks on those U.S.A. rivers. I'm thinking now that I need 1 inch of QT on the bottom of the boat.
Oh, and dont tell Merv, but its good for studying his lines.....for those fast times in Hoopa.
So...Chris....are you the man capturing the story in 2008 ?

Alumaman,
Treadmill and boat racing.....now you are getting just mean...! I just was sitting here thinking that I should lose a few pounds (as I am munching on some high fat tri tip meat). But I think I will just send up a bunch of beer for you between now and the races. I currently weigh 235lbs. How much weight do you have to gain to reach me? More importantly how much beer do I have to send up? 20-30 kegs??? What do you think?
Trust me from what I hear you are going plenty fast and if I am lucky I may be able to hang out in your rooster tail. Should be fun in any event. I also look forward to seeing some of you that I have never met. I have heard that there may not be that many coming down from Canada this year though. Any truth to this?
Oh and by the way Richard....those Hoopa lines in that video will be mute because the river will be three times as high during the worlds......I may have to call the Bureau of Reclamation and have them add some more turns to our river. Maybe this will slow down your rocket tunnel? I doubt it though..... _________________ Merv... |

I doubt I'll be doing the Wordls this year Rich. Were going to be right in the middle of a major remodel to our house. I won't have the time this year to film them. As I type this were surrounded by plastic and open walls. Were waiting for a break in the weather and the permits to get this project rolling. It won't be done until early September. I will be getting a good size shop out of it though 40'-29' with a 10'-40' rec room above it. I was told by a good source though that Frank from Riggins will be following the race this year. Sure wish I could though, I have a pretty good idea for the next one I get to make. I plan on going to Riggins this year though. I will be bringing the camera and the new still camera to that race. I might try and get down the road to Gold Beach and get some footage also. It's just 30 miles from the house. I wish all the racers LUCK this year during the 2008 Worlds. Give em' hell Merv. Rich Good Luck! |

Merv, so far, I know of 5 Canadian teams (2 UL, 1 A, 2 SBFX) planning to make the trip south. I wish there were more, but 5 is still pretty good.
I plan to stop in Hoopa May 14th to check out your river, before heading on to Gold Beach.
That Tri Tip sounds good…marinated and slow grilled? mmmmmmm
Chris, that shop your building, should be room for another jet boat. Eh!!

Chris....I too am building a shop this year and have been racking my brain on design,height,color,size,etc,etc....I think I have it nailed down to a 42'X60' w/12' walls. I belong to motocross forum where some guy posted some picture's of his shop and provided a link to another Forum that is VERY helpful and informative.Lot's of good ideas, and pictures to view of other peoples work.I know everyone on this board probably has a hankerin' for shop's so check it out at www.garagejournal.com/forum and lurk away.Or join up and ask some questions like I did....(I must admit when I thought of joining a Garage forum )well, let's just say it's already helped me lot's and the snow isn't even off the ground yet. |

Sounds good I'll take a look. Also for those of you who haven't seen the DVD I going to post this straight out of the DVD with Narration so you get an idea of what to expect in it. Most narration is done when we go to the points and the preview of the next river in the video. Here you go!
