I am thinking about building another 21ft. tunnel and as such I have a few questions 1. How much should it cost to build the boat (less hull and motor) using second hand parts? 2. Properly set up, what kind of speed could I expect from the boat? The motor is an iron 454 with around 450hp. 3. Where's the best place to look for parts? |

Im sure it can vary greatly depending on what kind of deals you can muster up for the used parts.
I personally would not want to run a "comfortable" lake style tunnel (i.e. not a stripped down race boat) with less than 500 hp and probably would be happier if i was closer to or over 550.
My guess would be 500 hp you might see 80's with a lake trim boat but the hull likely won't get into that range of feeling 'loose'.
Its only "just" starting to work with the airtunnels at that speed and to get there with a heavier lake style boat will take more than 450 hp
Hopefully thats a bit helpful at least
Cheers
(p.s. we do have a few used 21 tunnels here at the moment) _________________ T-53 , why go up and down when you wanna go round and round???? |
