Hi guys
We have appretiated you guys showing us your boating in North America. Here is a bit from NZ. The Rangitata River is located in the Canterbury High Country. Some of Lord of the Rings was filmed up here. It is a wide skinny braided river with heaps of channels. Enjoy

Almost all are Alloy except my boat. I would say all the alloy boats are about 16 degrees. My boat is vinylester and fibreglass with ceramic powder mixed in for abrasion resistance. It is gullwing in shape (about 15 degrees) with big reverse chines. It is a Terrier Jet from the West Coast of NZ and is designed for slow planning up little creeks.
Most of the alloy boats have 10mm although some are now coming with 12mm. A couple have UHME on the bottom and some bissalloy. Quite a few have Slide or Slipcote painted on the bottom Graphite based paint to allow them to slide more on the stones. I just rely on a layer of epoxy and sacrificial glass and microfibres etc.

Brian:
Thanks for the video. I wish that we had more opportunity to boat right in the mountains like that here in Alberta; very cool .
I find it quite interesting how generally different that our different continents build boats for essentially the same type of river conditions. I think your designs are typically inertia based _________________ 17' Firefish Frenzy, 200 opti, 8 degree rock chewin' bottom. Fishin' Extreme
