|

I thought I would try to make the forum more exciting and make a count down till the worlds topic. Basically you post things you have done to get prepared for the worlds, testing your boat, a role count of who is thinking of showing up or what ever works for you. I don't expect to get people telling speeds of any sort. But tell things that may of happened during testing (like the good old fly fisherman things ) or even pre running facts, to let other people know how the rivers look for people who aren't there to see. Anything to get this forum back up and going.
I don't know if people will say anything, but hey it was worth a shot.

Well, I'm not a racer but I'm gonna be there.
One of the things I did was to ask the government to increase my pension.
However I'm not holding my breath till then
Cheers and good on Ya!

As of Yesterday, these are the boats and crews from Mexico going to the worlds:
Jose Barquin and Javier Tapia, "B" Class
Juan Quiroga and Jose Posada ("pepe") "U" Class
Gil García and Oscar Zozaya (either A, B or U class )
Diego García and Gil García Sr. (Fx or SJ)
Estuardo Beltrán and Yours Truly "A" Class
Manuel Villafaña and Javier Sarabia, "SJ" Class
So turnout from Mexico seems to be the highest ever on a Canada Worlds.
I hope we all make it.

One thing you definitely need to add to your "To Bring to Alberta list"
Alberta has a "few" swarming little blood sucking vulchers this year. Stock up on mosquito spray and fix all the holes in your tent They are extra violent this year. |

22 days left. O my, o my. Do you think there will be some hottie flag girls this year. Looking real forward to meeting everyone from New Zealand, Mexico, and the US. Yes bring your bug spray and maybe a slingshot, some them mosquitos are getting real big here. Although I here that laying arose bush protects you from them (hey reeder) or was it the rum that put you there. _________________ Right on Jesse, we got 256 rocks so far. does anyone know how the Smokey's looking.
Does it look like back in 2004 with some big rapids, or like the past 2 years?
I am not trying to compare water level but the size of the rapids. |

Allblowdup, you've got it all wrong, there was no rum involved, but it just might have been the whiskey! Actually what put me in the rose bush was when I tripped over a mosquito......, the one that was humpin' a dog on the trail. |

Drove through Whitecourt yesterday, is there going to be any issues going under the bridge with the water levels like that? If not clearance for the boats ...what about passers-by over the bridge I suspect a few will get wet. |

It'll be like a free car wash, and if your buddy is in the vehicle, make sure his/her window is wide open |
