Looking for a second boat and am interested in the Tomcat. I am finding i like the narrow skinny skinny and rockgarden type rivers and my better half did not like the big ouch i put in our boat last week. Are the Tomcats bottom built strong enough when wrapped in uhmw to withstand hits and bouncing off of boulders at planning speeds? and do you think the 14 footer will do 3 inches of water? Im basicly looking for a very small armored personal carier with a sport jet perferably 175. no frills no paint just a fuel tank steering wheel tach and a throtel. i would even put the dang thing togther i dont want to spend another fortune.
Thanks
Jeteye

I do not believe that there is a 14' tomcat. I believe the smallest they make is 16'. They are a very strong boat. There is a video clip of the tomcat doing some amazing things on rlsmarine.com, the video clip is quite large but worth the download I think. That should answer most of your questions about the Tomcat. You can run them in very shallow water and at time even no water.

Jeteye,
I thought the 16' was too big (I owned one for 2 years), so I got a 14' from a custom builder. It's a no frills boat. Not even painted. But it can go more places than any other boat I know, and is very tough. The only problem with smaller boats is that you get yourself into too much trouble because there's practically no where you can't go.
I'm from the Edmonton area. Feel free to PM me and I'll send you some pics of the boat, and answer any questions you may have.
