I have a chance to buy this 13.5ft. Hi-Rise MFG boat. Anyone have any experience/thoughts on this particular boat?

looks like there is not much too it, not a very strong looking bottom. What would you use it for?

You may need to phone ahead to clear all spectators on the corners. That thing looks real slippery.

I'm not familiar with the design what kind of history does it have? It might be a fun project boat, but too short for a V8, most boats that short just don't handle that well with that much weight in the back, too unbalanced. I'd try a bumped up all aluminum supercharged Ecotec @ 180 /- hp from the wreckers and hook it up to a Berkley pump. I'd also put bigger and more strakes on it.

If you buy it you best be looking at the roll bar design, unless it's unfinished and just tacked in? If you don't mind me asking how much quid$

Other than the already mentioned lack of stringers and rollbar bracing , looks alright , maybe a different windscreen. With a sportjet or something light like the ecotec that Jesse suggested it should work good I think it's got a deep enough V that it should handle ok. Roger Kehoe has a Berkley Ecotec package figured out .

Missbhaven I think the boat was a side project High Rise Sled Decks built for fun, not sure if there is any history behind the design at all?.
Kev-O I want to build/buy an aluminum jetboat for around the 10K mark, that's why I was looking at this boat.
Apparently it's setup for a Berkley pump and a V8, according to the person that has it for sale...?. They're asking $3,500 for the boat.
