If its effecting the boats handling, then its best to discuss this with the shop guys at Eagle in Red Deer. The beauty of aluminum boats is that the repairs to aluminum are not that complicated or costly. Personally I would cut out and fix the dent first then run the boat and make sure the hull is happy again. Then decide or not to add QT as a separate issue. QT adds weight and lots of holes in the hull, but good strength if your boating style requires it. my 2cents

Thanks,Im sure this is his problem as the dent is over to the right and it makes sense that as he turns left it would create an air pocket and cavitate around 4200/4400rpm(wot).Being a big SABRE I think the Qt would do more help than harm?Thoughts?

Did your buddy check out the QT100 bottom from Outlaw Eagle? and how much $$$$? I'm curious about adding it if it's not an arm and a leg. Don't like the fact that it would be a weight gain but it might be worth it. Anybody else out there with an E6 with any thoughts?

I thought about putting a QT400 plate on my E6 similar to what SHACK for the jetforum did on his TJ. Kind of a wait as see, as I'm 7/8" thick already in the keel plate. If I damage it this year hunting, I'll probably go that route. Price wise, QT400 is cheaper than QT100, and If I remember correctly, the shop rate on the waterjet is ~$190 an hour. SHACK's setup looked pretty good and resonable price. Only diff I'd do is drillout and put helicoils in rather than put holes through the hull. Then again I have a ton of metal down there to work with, rather than the 5/16" of the TJ Smile.

I guess it all depends on what kind of boatin' a guy plans on doing. Anybody else have any comments on the pros and cons of the QT100 on any kind of hull?
