65 all day, any time I turn on the gps that's the top speed I see.
How bout u
Unless of course I just ran into some anorexic water (to skinny) and have rocks in the grate then it suffers some. But that would by why I started this thread.

Same #'s here....but the rocks never seem to bother it at all...if the grate sticks open it will slip a little as it rolls over
Major high speed cav over 6000 rpm

Haven't spun it past 4800 rpm
No doubt rocks haven't affected you if your always on the lake.

Just had a look at the Precision Jet Drive site. Nice looking impellers, had full page of info on the inducer, by their tests it increased efficiency and reduced vibration in a forced cavitation situation , be worth giving them a call.

Any body know off hand what I gotta do to install it ?
Do I have to yank the motor?
I like the sounds of their inducer being machined as opposed to cast.

You have to have the pump shaft machined, so you'll either have to pull the motor up to get the shaft out, at the least, or pull the pump. I haven't used one myself, but heard from someone who has (in a race boat) that it helped their holeshot and didn't seem to hurt the topend. It helped it stay hooked up in whitewater also. Been thinking about one my own self.

FCH-Someone told me that you could lose up to 10 mph with a stomp grate as opposed to a straight race intake?Did they mention this at EAGLE?Just curious as I want one,but a speed loss isn't in my future so I choose taking the plunge....

Don't waste your money on an inducer. We all ran them several years ago on pleasure boats and race boats (don't know if race boats are still using them) with the thinking that we'd get out of the hole better, more top end, faster getting to top end. You name it, it was going to improve with a inducer. Unless you are running a race boat and track every change in set up, change in weather condition and everything else, you most likely won't see the difference. Just run a good impeller and keep your pump in good shape. A stomp grate will cost you some speed. It only makes sense that you are disrupting the intake flow with that extra set of bars in your grate. Make the bottom of your boats straight and keep them that way and you'll get alot more performance in the long run.
That is just my unsolicited opinion.

Heard of a few people "sharpening"there intake.Is this much of an improvement?Of course this would be more vulnerable to sucking in rocks, but I wonder how much more a guy will get and if it's worth?FCH-You got a stomp grate forsale

Maybe. I would like to try a standard grate first. Should be a bolt on no mod thing I would think. And see what kind of difference it makes. Also I do believe when they talk about sharpening the grate they mean the tailing edge to straighten out the flow. I would think sharpening the leading edge would cause more trouble than its worth in the shallows.

That's correct. Aluminum. I got scared of stainless when some guys on the Smoky were telling me that it might blow the side out of my bowl. I never thought till just now to ask others if this is FACT or FICTION
Does anybody have any tips on what the best things to do to get speed without having to go straight to a stripped down race boat.

That make's sense.Just razzing about the stompgrate as I too find that getting wet for 10 or so mph is worth it.Xero-I have a alum impellor....Would like a SS one but the guy at the bank told me go alum last year What you getting at
P.S.-Someone at OUTLAW awnser scaler's question as I'm curious on that boat too
