So I was lounging around today doing a whole lot of nothing. Around 4pm I hear something bigger than an outboard out on the water. Of course I get up and look out the window and there's No Deposit, No Return on full plane ripping towards my dock. Mark called me yesterday to ask if I wanted to go boating, but since he lives 1.5 hours away and my pregnant wife has not taken well to recreational absences as of late, I politely declined.
So to say I was surprised was a bit of an understatement.
"where did you guys put in at?" I yelled.
"Allegan" was the response.
Well from my house Allegan is 10 miles down the Grand River, 30 miles along the Lake Michigan coast, and another 20 miles up the Kalamazoo.
Did I mention it was 4pm? There are no on water gas stations open this time of year. It gets dark about 5:30. it's a nice day but still only about 40F. Oh, and he left the boat lights at home.
Three trips to the gas station later, they are on their way back (5pm).
Leadville One is an idiot, and I am jealous!

Xero:
You know that it is the responsibility of each passenger to supply their own neck brace and insurance for mid-winter trips on the "Skinnydipper"
Hope that you had fun in spite of the physiotherapy required !

It turned out to be a pretty nice day for the 30th of December. Could have only asked for a little more moonlight for the return trip.

Oh i had a blast just learned the hard way do not Be the only guy sitting down when you're going to jump up on some ice/snow, no matter how deceivingly soft the entry looks like it will be.
The video is pretty funny at that part cause the stuff bouncing around inside the boat makes this horrific crashing sound that could not sound more like kicking out a plate glass window if you tried haha
Ill post more soon
Cheers
(and thanks for the ride, defiantly worth it even missing boarding)

If it weren't for the naked trees, I would call that the middle of summer too.
How the hell do you navigate those tree strewn rivers at night there "Steve Austin" ?

Looks like it was one of those rare, calm evenings. Did you freak anyone out walking the beach ??

Mark, after the cross-country Idaho trip, attempting to eject your pump in Albany and now this, you are definitely on MY list of gonzo jetboaters.
