lol ill probably get bi@#*ed at for sayin this but has anyone ever thought of running a race with classes based on mph?the reason i say this is that i see such a gap in some classes related to speed and think that with that it takes away from someone who can really drive the boat campared to some one who just has a fast boat.i hope i didnt offened anyone that was not my intention i was just curious and think that it would be a good idea. |

I dont think that would really work because someone in a class can work really hard to get speed and try to be the fastest boat in his class, but if we did class apon speed some one with a high horse power engine with no set up can be running the same speed as someone who has put a lot of work in to his boat
just my thought |

Also how would you determine the boats speed ? You would need some kind of qualifying round. Then a boat that is capable of 100 mph would run @ 90 mph for qualifying and when it come to race day he would go just fast enough to win his class. I think the rules now are fine. You can throw all the ponies you want at a boat, but you still need setup to keep you competitive and that's when people become inovative and desing some new stuff to get those elusive 1 or 2 mph. Every class will alway have some fast boats and some slow boats. Even in FX where the engine are crate ( we pulled valve covers in Peace River to ensure everyone had stamped steel rockers ) you will see some considerable time difference due to boat setup. _________________ Bulls Eye Enterprises Inc.

it would be easy to determine a boats speed tp ensure the boat stays within class all you would need is one run on the course with a gps to figure distance compared to time cause all boats are timed right |

Easy Fix Chevy offers the ZZ4 in its race form
everyone wants it fair. The Class goes as this all engines are
Put into a pool these are stock ZZ4s that are Dynoed sealed and ready to run
All engines are installed by teams 24 hour before race given 2 hours of testing
All boats are pooled in one area and are not touched til race day
At the finish all engines are pulled and returnned back into pool and inspected for tampering, freshend for next race and resealed no one boat gets the same engine in the season
When I raced Go Karts this was a safe bet that no one had a Cheater engine it was set up and driver skill _________________ Old Age and Treachery always Overcome Youth and Skill! |
