Looking at doing a race this weekend in NZ. I'm trying to figure out my endurance at race RPM's

What is the fuel flow at max rpm?

Anyone got some figures at various RPM's as well as full throttle?

My fuel flow meter says about 45 litres an hour at full throttle. Is this about right?

Cheers

Done the race. Burnt about 55-60 litres an hour. Sat at 5200rpm (WOT) for three hours. Would bank on 60 L/.hr or 1 litre a minute Rolling Eyes

Lots of fun. Raced in R2 class in my Terrierjet.

Here's some pics from the weekend.

Luckily I had fitted a tote tank as the Rakaia River was about 90km upstream. My underfloor tank is only 60L. We ran it dry about 5-10 minutes from the finish. We just selected the 24L tote tank that I had fitted inline with a Parker T junction and an ballcock, primed the carbs with the fuel bulb a started her up. It was a good opurtunity to turn the engine off and let the stones fall out of the grill anyway:D Very Happy

Would still like to hear what they reckon a SJ175 urns an hour?

Cheers
Brian

Does anyone know what a 240 will drink at mid range throttle? Say 4200-4800. Cerious to know if they are comparable to the 175.

Thanks.

I have a smart craft gauge, for my 240 the best economy is around 3800 rpm drinks about 30 litres/hour.
lowest I can go and stay on step is 3600 rpm at 26 l.p.h.
at 4500 it 45 lph
5000 its 60 lph
and at wot 5700 its 90 lph

there are also some good speed/fuel/rpm charts that Matt has on his site
