ran the slough yesterday and on the way back during a WOT stretch the boat started loosing rpms, down about 800, and so i let up and we heard the dreaded TICKTICKTICK so i backed off a bit but we couldnt stop for fear of STUCK so i kept in it, then the r's kinda came back again but the tick remained. no idea what it is but i felt the pump housing, it was warmish but not hot, oil line burned my arm however while checking it. i dont expect an answer here i just wanted to post something because its so boring in here lately! any suggestions after i pull my bowl to make sure its not pump related? screwdriver stethoscope trick?? plug reading? Rolling Eyes

Let's see now. Good thing it wasn't going TICK TOK or you might have had a mouse running towards your...CLOCK.

I don't know G. Maybe you should buy and dog and shoot the dog. You might get a bit of satisfaction. Laughing

not a bad idea, i dont hate it. but it is illegal to shoot dogs down here, go figure, i know! so i think i will pull some plugs instead. thanks and keep those ideas coming!

Yeah, if it's not the pump, take the oil filter off, cut it apart and look for any metal.
If it's bearing material it usually looks like "Gold" dust. Crying or Very sad
