Hoped to get away with the tunnel for the long weekend but work got nuts and slowed down the reassembly process. Over the weekend I ended up finding a bunch of stuff that didn't like the trip to Michigan much!
Fuel pump was shot, starter needed serious attention and the carb needed about 18 cleanings before it would idle(no im not exaggerating!)
Anyway I had one last issue which cut short this years "maiden voyage" since my headers weren't getting cooling water but I did get the boat wet on Lake ontario for about 15 mins on Monday. I did redo alot of rigging over the past while and sorted out some things I wasn't happy with from last year(wiring, plug wire routing, heat protection etc) I will say I am damn pleased with how the motor is looking so thought I'd throw in some pics. Note the lack of rear seats for the upcoming rollcage install Smile

Hope everyone else had a better may two four (the weather here sucked anyway)

Cheers

At least your jet boat is not pathetic and weak like mine Sad Mark and I took my boat up the grand last night. It ran well, but 40mph is just too sedate... Mark just straightened his hull out from Idaho so I think we'll be on the muskegon tonight to add a few dents.

Wouldn't have it any other way GB. I plan on having the video camera going too. Just got back from a little test run and for the most part the boat seems fine, well enough to scare him hopefully lol
I always seem to forget over the winter how ummm, well violent it is in the tunnel and what that mighty 460 sounds like in the back of the boat. It can only be decribed as pissed off and seemingly wants OUT of the boat Shocked haha
I was out alone for 20 mins or so on Lake Ontario in 1-2' chop and had the boat airborn a number of times. Figured I better come back in before it got any darker and I scared myself further lol
Cheers

I did film it, but something must have been wrong with the camera and it all looks like it was done in slow motion Wink

He actually brought the coffee crisp over on Tuesday. I've been into it already. I'm leaving for goalie camp tonight in Strathroy with Steve Micihian, goalie coach for the leafs...

Actually, it's more likely the the motor and pump get removed to be installed in the mini aluminum hull, but I'm still keeping an eye out for a 120 for that project.

Gav pics are over on the NZ forum. I smoked the pump/thrust bearing so it wasn't the best outing but we had some fun running untill it went.
My pump parts "should" be here mid next week so hopefully I will be boating with a tight SS "A" by next weekend and a new fancy airfoil intake grate and a properly aligned pump, mmmmmmm, can't wait!

Motor wasn't dyno'd but will be interesting to see what it will spin the new tight pump at. Guestimating around 500 hp tho

Cheers
