Just looking for some kind of material to put on my engine cover to bring the engine noise down a bit? Kodiak 350

Look at some of the products from dei. http://www.designengineering.com/catalog/boom-mat-acoustical-products I've used the thermal acoustic lining with some success and not a lot of weight. You can buy it though uap Napa or an automotive performance store like jb power centre or mopac.

A company out of Calgary called Sureline Foam products carries various acoustic damping foams. Check out their website:
