Hello Boaters
This one has me baffled, ran the Bow river today and my boat started out great 5500 Rpm, got on step and then it suddenly backed off to 3800 RPM at WOT and felt like I was pulling an anchor through the water. Shut it down. Stomped the grate started fine and would not spool up again without feathering the throttle and feeding it slowly back up to WOT but only 3800 RPM. Sat in an eddy for 20 minutes checking linkages, stator, carbs, fuel lines etc. Fired up and it popped out of the eddy back to 5500 for about 30 seconds and then died back to 3800 RPM. Stopped again in a big eddy and when I reversed up it went to 5500 RPM easily, back forward and only 3800 RPM reverse 5500 but not forward only 3800 rpm and you had to baby the throttle up?
Whats up with this engine? Any guesses. _________________ Bruce Roberts

Sounds like a stator if you dont have any fuel issues. |
