As some of you may have seen the CBC (followed by some papers) has reported on a movement to close the Kootenay,Bull,White and Palliser to jetboats. If you are putting video up on you tube...please think about it first...especially if you or where you are can be identified.Once up and recorded videos can never been taken out of public domain and will be used against us.We have already lost the Elk and upper Columbia to the non motorized groups. We are in a minority and once we lose a river it is gone forever. The East Kootenay Jet Boat Assn will be opposing any closures and will need your support |

Another prime example why the river boat clubs are so important to support. We are strength in numbers, and the more members the better. Even if you never plan to attend a meeting or function, at least purchase a membership to help the club size grow. |

The East Kootenay Jet Boat Association facebook page is up...please like and share.
The paddle groups met had a meeting last week with the Conservation Officers and are moving ahead with their agenda.
They are looking to close the Kootenay,St Marys(upper and lower),White,Palliser and Bull Rivers to motorized use.
One of our members is meeting with Bill Bennett, the local MLA,to give our side of the story. |

Funny how the paddlers don't want to share the rivers with Jet boaters but we're their best friends and the first group to be called for search and rescue when one of them needs help. Perhaps they need to be reminded of that! They shouldn't expect to have it both ways. _________________ It's always the Navigators fault! |
