So my issue is the impeller in my boat is a a3 but I was told it was cut down to a a2. When I measure the small diameter it is 7 1/4 not 7'13/16 like a a2. The Large diameter apperars to be 9 inch like a a3 but the difference between a3 and a 2'is only 3 /32 of a inch. Best I can remember I was reving around 4300 with my 350 in a 20 foot nahanni in my sd 309 . So what should I be using for a measurement or going by my rpm? The wear ring was worn out so replacing that's what started all this

When measuring the small diameter you need to be measuring the blade not the hub like you are in pic#2. That’s blade tip to blade tip.

If your 350 is pulling an A3 to 4300RPM it is very strong. Most of the time a 330HP will pull a A3 about 3600 at 2500ft above sea level.

We use a 1/4" of the Blade length (easiest way to mark the blade) for a 500rpm increase. This is on the back of the blade size (small end).
