Typing this on an iPhone so it will be short.
The Whitecourt club is struggling to put together the necessary people to organize and host a race. The number of racers in Whitecourt is very small, and its becoming an overwhelming task to manage a race for a small club of non racers.
For 2013 we do not have the people resources to hold a race. So before we move to cancel, we are wondering if a team of race officials could be formed by race enthusiasts from other communities?
Jet boat races exist because guys/gals want to race. It's the jet boat community that keeps this sport going. Many races that used to be, are no more. It would be sad to see this race also drop off the "western zone" schedule.
In closing "we have a river, and a good supply of volunteers and sponsors, but would need a race captain and all the officials to come in and manage the race. |

Wow...this is very sad news. WC is my favourite stop as a fan and racer, I hope it all gets figured out. If I wasn't racing I would definitely volunteer.
