Hey everybody how about we all get together and try to come up with the best insurance policy and carrier, surely there are enough of you guys tired of spending too much on boat insurance, let's get some input from everyone on how much we pay (should say how for insurance and for how much coverage) and with whom. maybe we can barter a deal with a common carrier. and save more money for gas.

I would also like to find a Canadian Insurance company that will place PL/PD on my Race Tunnel, only to cover me when I'm testing. I have found a couple of companies in the states that insure race boats, but they can't write policies in Canada. I can't believe that the Canadian Power Boat Assoc doesesn't have anything set up (I phoned them and they had no idea who insures race boats in Canada).

The family boat is covered through my Wawanesa home policy, $857 for $41,000 coverage.

For the sportjet Wananesa stated that "their company policy was they could not insure any boats under 19 ft. with 240 HP." So after much phoning around I ended up with Premier Marine, $763 for $26,000 coverage.

I wouldn't hesitate to change carriers if a better rate could be had.

just got off the phone with co-operaters & was told that they can insure river boats as long as they have a "boat motor" -- good news for us MERCURY SPORT JET owners -- 200.00 less than my previous policy with BEACON UNDERWRIGHTING

My renewal just came in from Allstate - $757 for $39,000 coverage (Eagle E6 with stock 350 and trailer) in Edmonton. I called Co-operators, and they quoted me $488 ($269 less than Allstate). However, they would only insure the boat if I insured the house with them. This is where it got interesting, as they quoted me $340 more than Allstate to insure the house Shocked

Frikken insurance companies - the only choice is if you want to be screwed in the left ear or the right ear Mad .
