Ghost Dam and head west up the Bow towards Seebee Dam. Short trip maybe 3 hours total. Ghost Dam is west of Cochrane on the Old 1A highway.

Worthy to note that short stretch of the Bow river is highly dependant on numerous power dams and as such is very hard to predict the flow and runability.

From the top of Ghost Lake(the Morley bridge) to the first rapid you "may" not be able to pass Is probably only 15-20 mins. It is a fun little run all the way to the next dam, but there is a class 4 rapid in there and there may not be enough water to get that far.

Theres a "dead stretch" of river between that dam and the Seebe dam which cant be accessed by power boat.

If you launch above the Seebe dam you can run all the way thru Canmore to the park boundary, a gorgeous run but dead mans flats is a maze of channels to figure out and you really dont want to chose wrong unless your eup for adventure Very Happy (see pic)

Fire me a PM with your # if you want more info, I have made all these runs many times.

This is looking up the canyon about 5 mins downstream of the dam above Ghost Lake. I believe its called the Horseshoe Dam. The class 4 rapid is in the distance. There was not enough water to get to it when this picture was taken. The Bow at this stage is also fed by the Kananskis which itself has several dams so like I say is very hard to predict. Another note, do NOT use the depth of Ghost Lake as any indication, ask me how I know lol

Yea I usuaklly take the orange center path but its a bit tight in spots.

Yellow on the left is a blast but theres definitely some quick turns and alot of wood to avoid or jump.

The red path, which basically doesnt appear in the picture at all is the "main" channel. Its pretty safe but easy to pass up on the main entrance to it on the downstream side since it sorta looks like a side channel. Its very direct once you make that first turn tho and is reasonably deep.

Definitely an area thats hard to see thru from water level. Has made for some "interesting" boating Very Happy
