A press release:
DAY THREE TESTS RACERS OF THE 2012 TOYOTA WEAVER SEED WORLD JET BOAT MARATHON CHAMPIONSHIP
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MEDIA CONTACT: KYLA SAWYER, (208) 469-0452
Day three provided lots of world class racing action in a steady rain and wind for the 15 world jet boat teams on the Snake River.
During leg two at approximately 11 a.m. driver Jeff Edwardson of Orofino, Idaho and navigator Ryan Hudson were piloting #269 Maniac on the Snake River when they hit a wave and came down hard, Race Referee Larry Darnielle said.
Edwardson and Hudson drove the boat safely to shore and were assisted by world jet boat race emergency response, safety boat and communications volunteers. Edwardson was transported by ambulance to a Lewiston hospital.
“Jeff was evaluated by the medical staff as a safety precaution. He is not injured and is expected to race tomorrow,” Darnielle said.
“Our safety and communications teams’ performance today was exemplary,” Race Director Gary Labrum said.
Two-time former world champion Dale Whiteside had to withdraw from the race after blowing an engine in the second leg today, Labrum said.
Racing continues for day four, 9 a.m. from Hells Gate Marina to Bear Bar on the Snake River.

Check the Mark Sharley pictures of Mark Cromie's stuff at the topic above
Here is what I heard about it- The hull is trash but the turbine started up and they drove it in. Pretty amazing after seeing the pictures, Mark and his nav were NOT injured and thing would still run.
Here are the times:

Here is a media report that goes with todays races. I guess this explains legs 13 & 14 but not sure what happened to leg 12.
MEDIA RELEASE
LEWISTON RACE LEGS ON SNAKE RIVER END EARLY.
RACING TO RESUME ON THE CLEARWATER RIVER TOMORROW FOR THE 2012 TOYOTA WEAVER SEED WORLD JET BOAT MARATHON CHAMPIONSHIP
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MEDIA CONTACT: KYLA SAWYER, (208) 469-0452
Race officials canceled the last two legs on the Snake River of today’s 2012 Toyota Weaver Seed World Jet Boat Marathon Championship.
“Due to rough water on the upper part of the Snake River course, we feel this is the best decision for all of our teams,” Race Referee Larry Darnielle said.
“This will allow drivers and crews’ time to work on their boats in preparation for racing on the Clearwater River tomorrow,” Darnielle said.
Fourteen racers started the second day of racing on the Snake River this morning and had completed four out of the six legs scheduled.
The decision was made by officials after several boats had experienced structural damage and/or had mechanical issues, Darnielle said.
Racing will resume as scheduled at 10 a.m. PDT from the start at Orofino’s Ahsahka boat ramp to the East End boat ramp at Lewiston on the Clearwater River tomorrow. The teams will then complete leg two starting at 2 p.m. from the East End boat ramp back to the Ahsahka boat ramp.
For a complete schedule, go to: facebook.com/2012usa.worldjetboatmarathon.
Race leader Mark Cromie of Kamo, New Zealand is out of the competition after a crash today on the river. Cromie and navigator Richard Maunder were not injured in the crash.
Results from today’s race will be posted later today.
