It's been 21 years since I watched jet boat racing on the upper red(besides when the red deer crew used to come up lol) is there any interest out there to challenge the shallows of the red anymore? Or maybe even a poker rally? _________________ Life is measured in cubic inches! |

I like the idea of that!!!! An early summer poker run or even a river run would definatley be fun!!! A run from Glenifer Lake to the Ledges at coal camp is always a fun one!!!! |

That would be a great idea! I know me and some of the pals from GP have been looking for an excuse to go down and get in your rivers down there! |

It would be a great river to race on again. The lower Red Deer would be very challanging at 100 + MPH. I loved running from penhold to the damn in my old boat (95 - 100). It was a great time. The upper would be mayhem, for sure. It was mayhem 20 years ago when boats were going 75 mph. Mayhem dont make it impossible though!!! Just not enough support for that anymore here, I beleive. We cant even put together a boat rally on the Red Deer, let alone a race. The fishing dudes would freak out. |

Yes it's to bad about the fishing community, they truly hate the boaters on the red deer. I am a fisherman my self and always carry my rod with me in the boat so I am very curtious to the fisherman when I encounter them, but I still get the finger all the time. The red deer river is truly the great equalizer and it's a shame we can't organize something. I do believe power in numbers may help. _________________ Life is measured in cubic inches! |
