On these cold mornings on the way to the river my steering cable is frozen up. I have been just letting it sit in the water until it unthaws. But sometimes it takes a long time. How can I fix this. |

Heat trace!.....j/k! It could be that the grease your using doesn't like the cold or maybe your cable is on it's last legs. |

Where do you grease a 16ft lynx with a 175hp merc. Can't find any thing in the manual. |

Not sure, most steering cables have a zerk. |

No place to grease the steering cable on my 175. Had to replace my cable last yr, as it was getting tight to operate. |

The boot on your cable is probably leaking, I had the same issue with mine and it is a pin in the ass. Pulled the cable boot off worked the water out, regreased the cable well and put a new boot on and it solved the problem.
Freaks you out when you don't realize it before launching off the trailer first thing in the morning!! |
