Well just got my first used jet boat 2001 1800 eagle marine
looking for spec on the hull and a manual for the 175 sj and pump
it got a steel plate on the bottom
There two small flat head srews just forward of the grate, is that for the gear box and what type of oil should be used. Is the same principle as to fill the an out board leg with gear oil

Yeah, one of the scews is the overflow and one the drain. ReFill it from the drain and when it starts to come out the over flow its full. Then quickly get the plug back in. Mercury hi performance gear oil is what you want.

Yup figured out the screws and had some water in it. Now I am getting ready for a load of moose meat.

if there was water in the case, you might wanna check your output shaft seal before ya go too far into the wild.water in gearboxes is usually pretty bad news,as it can cause damage to bearings.cheers
