Does anyone know if the 250 opti sportjet gearbox gears (1.15-1) be put in a 175 sj gearbox (1.25-1) ? I just need to know if the gears will fit ? |

No. The pinion shaft that slips into your motor is longer with the 250 than the 175,200 & 240. |

I didn,t think it could be that simple , do you think a machine shop could make this work without it becomeing rediculously complicated and unrelyable ? |

Thanks for your input Boomhower , do you think the 250 is long enough to machine down and respline for my 175 ? A fellow on another website said they did this swap into a 240 sj ? Thanks |

My objective is to reduce rpm at any given speed . less RPM = quieter , easier on motor , possibly better fuel consumption ? ....I suspect top speed would actually be slightly reduced with this swap as 175 may have trouble pulling these tall gears . If I can make the pinion gear/shaft fit by machineing it I will be doing this swap and report my results . |
