I have a nasty dent, and I need to get it repaired and I am looking for the advice of forum members.
I have some pics but cannot seem to figure out how to post them up here. Any suggestions how to go about posting the pics? Or is someone willing to post them for me if I email them over to you?

I had some a lot worse than that.
Drop the boat off the trailer onto a concrete floor, tip the boat over so that the dent is level on the floor. Set the end of a 2" steel pipe (with a cap welded onto it) on the dent, then slam the heaviest Post Pounder you can find down onto the pipe (might take a few hits). Might crack a weld or two, but it will push the dent out. Weld up cracks as needed.
Worked for me.

Rockdoctor is right that is a fairly minor dent , for those little dents I have a solid steel shaft 6 feet long by inch and three quarters , weighs about 50 pounds I just hold on tight with both hands and spear down hard starting in the center of the dent and work out towards edges of the dent useing the appropriate amount of force , you probably don't even have to take it off the trailer as long as you don't get to aggressive with the steel shaft . Then just have any cracks welded up .

Thanks for the tips guys...seems simple enough to pound out the dent. For the welding of the cracks, does the UHMW need to be removed or protected from heat?

I've pounded dents out a few times, and last yr I replaced my UHMW. I could not see any heat damage to the old UHMW that I pulled off. My boat has a 1/4" bottom, I put wet rags around the weld repairs to bleed the heat away. I don't think it would be a good idea to try to cool the welds to fast, but bleeding the heat away like that seems OK.

yes technically that is a dent...... but hardly one that carries any bragging rights.....put a sand bag under the dent when you are pounding it out, it will absorb the stray energy and help to keep the welds from cracking

Remove the reverse chine, and rent a Jackhammer with a blunt tip? Maybe a couple big sledghammers to straighten the side, as the dent pounds out.
OR, weld in some brackets that can be used to position a Hyd Bottle Jack in there and press the dent out from the inside. Remove the reverse chine first.

I would and have used a porta power to slowly push the dint out. It has an asortment of attachments that will make the job easyer. I got mine a princess auto and have used it lots for just this eventuality.
Yes the reverse chine should come off first.

Yup thats nasty!
Hydaulic jacks and some welding for sure.
Too much pounding without relieving some stress= lots of welding and stretching of exsisting panel.

Thanks guys, all good advice for sure. Now I cant help wondering, if it were an outlaw? How big would the dent be, if at all. hmmmm But I guess thats where the money goes
