Thinking about taking out baffles in the pump housing. Has anyone on here done this or heard of anyone that has. Pro's and con's

| We used to take them out in the hope of improved performance but it did not seem to make a difference;if you do take them out it is a good idea to put a sleeve over your cables as the exhaust can melt the housings. |

Not likely going to see any performance gains. In addition to the heat issue another thing to consider is...are you willing to put up with an increase in noise?
IMO, remove the baffles is if your wanting to take advantage of other high performance modifications and part upgrades you plan to make to the engine, like higher compression heads, better reeds, lightweight flywheel, port timing etc. None of which is recommended on an older engine. The 175 has the same exhaust setup as the 90, it is overly restrictive which is why the M2 design came about. |
