Hello,

I am in the market for a good family boat but I know kids and myself are also into most watersports, including wakeboarding and surfing. I am looking at an E6, and wondering just how many guys (or their kids) happily board/surf behind a jetboat. I am not expecting comparable wakes to a true tournament tow boat, but stories of happy boarders/surfers will seal the deal for this purchase.

Thanks in advance,

we do all of the above sports all the time behind our edge marine it takes a little getting use to but weight is your best friend so pack as many friends as you can the enjoy the day.

Also look for a integrated tower and I suggest a 212 and a big block

cheers

It really is true that a Jetboat boat can do almost anything you want on the water. Family fun anywhere..... rivers, lakes, big water. It will do it all where a lake boat is limited to just that. I've pulled skiers, knee boarders, barefooters and tubers behind mine and had no problems with a SBC. I'm sure 350-400HP would pull anything out of the water with ease.

I use my E6 (stock 350 sbc) on a lake yarding the kids around (and myself the odd time), wakeboarding, skiing, kneeboarding and tubing all the time and it works great! The one thing I did was replace the stock AT pump nozzle with a hydraulic trim nozzle as the boat would constantly fall off plane while pulling a wakeboarder at the slower speed. Now I just trim down with the nozzle and problem solved.

As long as your pump is in good working order (wear ring and impeller) and you're not cavitating, this set-up will pull anybody out of the water pretty good (not quite as good as a ski boat, but who would want a ski boat when you can have a river boat!)

A wake tower would be an asset too but I don't want it to look like a lake boat so I never put one on! Cool Cool

if you are going to get a towing tower , get it removable, then when you get out on the river you can replace it with a brass pole , starts a party !!

This is a 17ft riverboat with a 212 and 383. Wake tower for family fun, four bolts to remove the tower for riverboating. No fatsaks, just 4 adults in the boat. 15-16km/h. On a std thruster surfboard as well...
