I've been using the clearwater for a few years now, and for the amount of boaters on it, I am extremely impressed at the way the fort mcmurray residents treat the campsights, and the river in general.

Does anyone know who looks after the sites? is there a club, or what? I would like to donate next year. Time or money to help with this.

Nice to see that the hardwork and commitment made by local people and government is being recognized. Our Alberta government department of lands and sustainable resources deserves credit and one of the smartest moves they made was hiring Jim Holden to oversee the maintainance of the campgrounds along the river. Jim has jetboated that river since the early 70's, he lives and traps on the river year round, no one knows the river or loves it more than him. It sure shows in the improvements made in the last three years and the respect boaters are showing in keeping the campsites tidy. The sledders in winter have been respectful for the most part, but remember, if you can haul it in, you can haul it out, TAKE YOUR GARBAGE BACK WITH YOU. I know that the people I Boat and sled with will also pick up after others to preserve the pristene beauty of our own year around playground, it is appreciated. If you see Jim on the river in the resources Jet boat, or happen by his place, drop in and say hello and thanks. Best people you'll ever meet.

I will keep an eye out for the resources boat. I dont know what it looks like, but I would certainly like to talk to him. Ya, I always carry my stuff out. It's a must
