Interesting. Ive never run the Clearwater, but plan to. Did you make the trip all the way from Ft. Mac? Can you get past the falls? |

Yes we left from Ft Mac. By river from the GPS it is about 120 km's one way. Can't get further then the falls. Not sure what it's like from the upper side of the falls - I know much of that section is done by canoes and rafts, but I've never been. |

Right on jethead, I have done that run a couple times myself. Beautiful scenery along the way. Gets real nice up through those rapids, lots of nice rock formations. I ran it last year in late October when the water level had came done lots and that was a bit scetchy! But fun none the less |

I hear ya! There is some insane fishing on that lake. If you get across to the islands on the deep side of the lake by Gunner Island or Grouse Island the fishing is unbeatable. Its a long trek but well worth is. If you want a guide contact Dollard Dollaire from Lake Athabasca Lodge, he has a Lodge on Grouse Island, he has been in the business for years. Awesome guy. Me and a couple friends went up there in June.
Well worth it! |

Been above the falls in a canoe. If you could get a jetboat up you could go another 50 to 60 km before the next set of falls. Eventually after about four sets of falls and many rapids there is a road. This is about 100 km above the falls. _________________ Don't forget your boots |
