Well after ordering the Durafix i've decided just to fix the crack properly and have it welded. Have been told i should be able to weld it up and not melt the UMHW Is there any precautions i should take?? Would like to do it right the first time.
Thanks |

are you taking it to a shop to get welded or are you doing it yourself? |

they will have their own techniques for cleaning and prepping it. weve done welding on hulls and left plastic on, it should be fine. it may help if they have someone hold some soaking wet rags on the bottom side of the plastic where the welding will take place tho |

Aluminun dosen't get red hot like other metals when being welded. The UH may get hot around the welded area but not enough to do any damage. |
