We were attempting to reach the main river that fills the reservoir, but sadly, there's a lot of garbage floating on the narrow canyon.
Birds don't seem to mind, though....

The zone is very arid and dry, but plants find their way to grow on the walls of a 200 m high wall...

The place is a popular fishing spot. "Catch and release" is striclty enforced, since the water that fills the dam comes from a very contaminated source.
There's a nice hotel in one of the islands, with swimming pool and everything!

Some tall trees that used to be on the banks of one of the streams that flow into the dam were overflowed. Since the water has a lot of minerals, the trees died and turned white. Interesting landscape...

Kev-O, I think the local fisherman use those plastic bottles as cheap floats on there fishing nets all over the rivers and lakes in Mexico, and not so careful with them.
