Holeshot could be improved with set-up and by possibly adding some hydraulic or electric trim tabs or maybe a starter cup. A larger intake opening may help too, it would keep the pump from running out of water, it might eliminate impeller chatter and pump noise at high speeds. As far as building a race hull to accomodate dual pumps I dont think it would be beneficial to help in the top end department. Like DOC said the water pressure out of the pumps would be the same volume and speed. just twice the thrust. Having dual pumps would mean having a wider keel and two intakes, a wider hull, more surface area giving you more drag. Keeping two intakes fed with water woul be a challenge as well.
Twin jet pumps are awesome in a pleasure boat or utility boat, they launch out of the hole like a cannon and can pack heavy loads.
This is just my opinion fellas. |

These boats leave quite well, I have seen them when you get a good start and they will be hard to beat off the line. New boat and a totally different animal, these guys will figure it out quick. These turbines have a bigger intake opening already and yes a little more fooling around will like all new set ups will be key!

don't know if the 357 team was dealing with any "grief" but seemed like they had the power dialed back while they figured out what set-up the new boat wanted . wasn't surprised to see them showing some respect for the new monster and was impressed with the potenial that it showed for the first race. rigging on the boat was a work of art
but this thread was started about another turbine boat.....can we expect to have 4 of them competing in the worlds next year ??? _________________ Rick's Precision Machine

from what I hear around the grape tree there is a very good chance of 5 or 6 turbines at the worlds . |
