That's going to be one sweet ride. Not a big fan of the roll bar, but I'm sure the finished product will be nice. Good job on the tunnel boys!

This is probably a dumb question from a noob but what ever. How come with the big HP and the problems with the pump pressuring up on these turbines a guy does not put two pumps in? I'm betting it would take care of the getting off the line problems Gord was having. And once out front who's going to pass you.

Is there anything in the rule's about running dual pumps? I saw a HCM boat in the whitwater clip with side by side Vortecs. Maybe instead of going 2' longer you should go 2' wider and get 2 Unlimited engine's? The possibilities are endless!!

I think it was in 1976 that the boat Jim Martin drove in unlimitted had two 455's in it. Seems to me that it did 80 mph in peace river.

I saw a boat a few years ago some where on the net with one engine and two pumps. I'll see if I can find it and get some info.

There was a place on line called DUALDRIVES but the link I have no longer works.
Gonna have to be a pretty tough gear box to hold a turbine or even a 1000hp BB.

with over 1800hp in cromie's boat during the 2007 worlds and him BURNING up impellors, you would think that going with a ALOT bigger pump and impellor would solve this problem, including turbines. Would be big bucks to fab a new bigger pump, but I bet am. turbine would be very interested in this. my 2c.

I have a buddy here who runs 2 pumps off of a single 572 via a belt drive set up in his pleasure boat. Not sure about speed but I know that thing snaps out of the hole like nobody's business!!!!!!

You can only go as fast as the water that is coming out of your nozzle, so going to two pumps would give you a good holeshot but no top end.

And that is the whole idea Doc. That turbine of Gords was having a bugger of a time getting out of the hole. Like I say with all the HP if you can get out front early who is going to pass you.
