I have a friend that has a 12 degree 2005 Nahanni, AT 309 pump, a Kodiak 383 stroker with a supercharger. Top speed is about 42 mph @ top rpm of 41 - 4200.
Elevation here is 2350 ft.
I have a Custom built 12 degree, 21 ft Clearwater with a Kodiak 383 stroker,
a Hamilton 212 with a 3.4. Top speed is 45 mph at top rpm of 3750. My boat is about a 1000 lbs heavier and averages 2.5 - 3 gallons less fuel per hour.
I'm thinking I'm quite happy with my boats preformance but what's wrong with the Nahanni? I would think it should blow me out of the water. _________________ 21' Clear Water 383 w hj212

I will agree with you there, your buddys boat should be quicker.
Has he checked his impeller lately and is the bottom straight? If there both good then I'd say he has engine issues. Is the engine a marinized drop in from Kodiak or something he has built. It sounds like the engine is not making power. 4100 rpm is a bit low for that engine. |

I should have mentioned that he has about 30 hrs on the boat. Bottom and impeller is good. The engine is straight from Kodiak (marine engine). Had Outlaw check it out acouple of years ago, they say no problems??? _________________ 21' Clear Water 383 w hj212

Holy that is really low rpm for a supercharged 383 on at 309. What impeller does he have? How much boost does he run? carbed or fi? It should turn a 9.5 at close to 4600. _________________ Mark

My stroker with a 309 turns around 45-46ish with a stainless impellor. Aluminum I would see 4800. That's with a ZZ383 carbed. My AMS stroker used to top out at 54-5500rpm with a Aluminum impellor. |
