how far up the pembina river can you get from the mouth of the athabasca river

A couple years ago we took buddys Kenferm up about 2+ miles. Could have went further but didn't feel like pushing that big tub. I'd imagine with some of these shallow water boats, you can get quite far. It's fairly wide and a real nice area. There is also a nice camping spot right ot the mouth that was a sweet fishing hole. You can quad down to it somehow as well.
