I owned a 20' E6 saber with a delta bottom and the marine 350. Basically it was a ZZ4, 6 degrees of bottom,it had a jetovator attached to an AT pump with a "AA" impeller. We were limited to how many people and gear we could run up river. I think during a funeral I had 7 adults and 3 kids. Drug my rear just once through the bottom getting on plane. We had so much fun running that boat. The wife didn't like how it turned she said. Could be we weren't running full speed and the trim was not fully adjusted too. Any how I thught it turned just fine for it's size. I clocked the boat with 4 adults and two kids going upriver at 54 and downriver at 61. We took the boat to the lake to try it out, I'm use to running rivers so lake boating was a whole new experience. We ended up in the air more then in the water due to green rollers in the lake. We had a blast though. We sold the boat not because we didn't like it, We sold it due to the ecomony and pay cuts. just my experience.

Just off hand does anyboidy know the price of a LSA or ct 525, in cdn preferably, even though there shouldnt be much differance at this point being that our Dollar almost par.

Having personaly had zero river experience before my first boat. I would recomend spending an amount of money on a boat that you can afford to lose. I came very close several times to total loss. And maybe worrying about wrecking your boat and how much it could cost is a good thing. But it would sure take some of the fun out of the learning curve.

You can probably pick up a ct 525 for around 8500 cdn without marine gear. The lsa is alot more I am guessing close to 20,000 with marines gear as that is the way it comes. Somone else chime in if I am off base here.

this might make all the racers yell and throw stuff,but dont rule out the sport jets either.
my first boat was a 1975 harbercraft w/ 200 optimax.very quick on step,nimble boat real economical to run as well.
bottoms are built fairly light though and need beefing up.top speed on still water is 44 mph according to gps.aside from a few compromises ,i couldnt be happier with
a first boat.just my 2 bits....

this one treated me good.like i said good first boat.cheers. :wink:and to rapid transit:good call.also 70 moh on the river is WAAAAYYYY

u likr 4x4ing or quadding? add a little water and some teflon and theres some good family fun. all our toys have been collecting dust since we bought our harbor extreme. its the greatest family thing we've done together. buy a boat that can take a bit of punishment. anyone one i know that thought "thats not the type of riverboating there into" has sold there rides for tougher ones. if theres no rocks you might as well but a bayliner
