Just wondering if anyone has tried putting nitrous on a river boat? Thinking about it but not sure how well it will work. Want to speed up on the straight aways or whoop some fiberglass ass on the lake.

I'm also looking for a set of water jacketed headers. I have Kodiak manifolds now but wondering if it is a viable upgrade other than the fact they look pretty cool. Anyone know of a decent manufacturer or supplier?

I've got a pretty much stock zz4 that runs real solid with a dominator 12s pump w/ stainless A impeller and race nozzle in a 19ft. sport.

Any opinions???

Lightnings used to be about 3200 a set but they should be cheaper with the dollar up. They make big horsepower, pretty much the same as open dry headers at least they did on my 383. PHONE Louie at AMS for a price.

You can get them through a few places or get them direct. The cost is pretty close. Lightning's phone number is 951-678-5631. Dale ran nitrous in the open class in the 2007 worlds. I guess it worked pretty good for the sprint to the first corner in some circuts.

On the last day of the worlds he appeared to use alot of nitrous. With the cam on backwards you could see and hear the NO3 shots. Cool

Thanks for the input gentlemen. I think I may give the nitrous a try. I'm also going to upgrade the intake to a single plane high rise. Apparently nitrous works better with those. That and the boat really doesn't see any rpm below 3000 so I think it will work. Will open her up real good with the headers. Anyway, if the nitrous doesn't work out it might get me a little closer to doing a more powerful engine swap!!!

Be Careful with the NOS, Ive heard you will gain about 500 RPM with a fogger plate system. those hyperutectic pistons used in the ZZ4 are probally not a good candidate for the NOS.
Just my Opinion.

Good point Boom. Forged pistons would probably be your best bet

You might want to run colder plugs and also run a wet kit. It injects a shot of race fuel with the nitrous. More consistent horse power. Also a bottle warmer might be in order for a more consistent shot of nitrous. But all in all I'd say overall nitrous is a pain in the A:".

there is also a new system out that uses a nitrogen charged 2nd bottle to ensure the NOS bottle keeps the same pressure all the time, therefore delivering a consistent amount right until the NOS is empty
