"How about insurance on race boats?"
For all you race boat owners...... good news !
I have an insurance company that will cover your boats for fire/theft/malicious damage - basically it is a storage policy.
The coverage "suspends" the second the vessel is lauched for use and then "resumes" once it is loaded back on the trailer.
If anyone is interested in a quote, give me a call or email _________________ Calista or Nancy

the Johnston Meier company mentioned here is who i use i got their card from Rob when i picked up my sport this summer. most companies wont look at you when you hit the big HP #'s as was the problem i had in Ft.mac. these people seemed to know what they were talking about. put $70,000 coverage on the boat and yes they cover the trailer but for some reason i think it was a max of $5000, i could be wrong about the max part.$800 or so for a year.if you leave you province give them a call they can extend the range lots of questions regarding storage, trailer or dock or boat house, using chains and wheel locks for security,cause we all know how fast these things can go missing. all that said i have filed no claims yet and hope to not have to but i guess at that point i will decide if they are a good company. by the way they were about $400 cheaper than anyone else i could find. |

The co-operators charged me this
$ 413.00 for the boat 2009 Predator ( $ 43 500 value )
$ 228.00 for the engine 540 HP fuel inj Blown LSA ( $ 24 000 value )
$ 48.00 for the trailler ( $ 5000 value )
$ 689.00 total for the year with $ 1000.00 deductable, not sure why but the boat the trailler and the engine are insured separately. _________________ Bulls Eye Enterprises Inc.

Once i seen your #'s Dawg thought i would do some looking into my policy, good thing i don't look after the finances, other then spending. wrong policy only 65k coverage includes trailer, there also some different stuff concerning coverage for towing water skiers, tubes, and the like.some personal effects stuff , medical payment stuff & a mil plpd. the deductible $650,yearly cost $648 for the 09-10 season. some questions about top speed were asked also if i remember correctly. |

I have been using Drayden Ins. 780-939-3600 for over 10 years, I pay close to 700.00 a year for Fire, theft, and collision, I have a 1999 eagle insured for 68,000.00. My insurance is also broken out by boat, motor and trailer. I just had to fib a little on hp numbers, said it was only 300hp. I have made two claims, one for a bad crash back in 2001 and they paid to replace the hull, 22,000.00 and one for 5000.00 when someone stole the top end off the motor while it was sitting in my buddies trucking yard in GP. These guys have been great to deal with. My premiums have not changed in 10 years, but my broker did warn me that after a boat is 10 years old they generally do not like to insure them at replacement cost anymore, which I understand. They have not cancelled me yet, so I'll just wait and see what happens this next year. |

I just got off the phone with Calista. All I have to say is WOW! My insurance company (the cooperators) has been jacking me around for around 6 months. 10 minutes on the phone with Calista, and my boat is insured. $436 for the year........FULL coverage. |

They can save me approx 350.00 for ins. on approx 65-70,000 including contents. ie fish finder/gps and trolling motor. They have another company that will cover your drivetrain against failure from debris etc as long as you have a grate on the inlet for about the same as I pay in Ab. Approx 1150.00 year. I had the same run around last year. Hard to find ins. in Ab. There's probably as many boats in Ab. as in inland B.C. |

Hi Everyone - just an FYI - we now have 2 companies that will cover damage due to injestion into the impellar
So far I have 2 companies that will insure highter speeds/HP (65-75mph)
Cannot find any company to cover any boats used in racing - only coverage while on trailer
Policies are always "Current Market Value" not "Actual Cash Value" - ACV policies will depreciate in the event of loss.
Hope you all had a great summer ! _________________ Calista or Nancy
