I'm stunned at this .
Why ?
Drugs ?
Alcohol ?
The end result was a given for anyone ever having a plugged intake . No amount of HP will help if you can't get fluid in to pump out or did you forget about that ?
With the mud floe you were in anyone sober would have had that thought to stop themselves .
Call it hindsight , call me a pussy ,come on guys that was a STUPID IDEA .
I wish I could afford to throw away money like that .
Usually the gov. does that because it's easy to spend others money . Taxpayers had to pay for those 25 or did you forget that too ?
This will only affect the decision makers to put more rules on boating , thanks for nothing guys .
PS
I am glad that you made it out alive regardless ! Geez

Are you trying to piss people off on here.......? Confused

This why folks have a natural tendency to NOT want to share the BAD stuff that happens in their lives for fear of some DORK ridiculing them.

Aww well there's always some sanctimonious jerks out there who just always do things the right way and never get into a pickle because they know better.

Guys, I can tell you that there was no alchool or drugs involved, although I am an adrenaline junkie and I agree it wasn't the smartest thing I have ever done. The bill came out to $4800.00 for search and rescue and yes tax payers picked it up. I do pay about 5K in income tax every couple months and 4K in taxes to the MD every year, not counting the taxes I pay on the copious amounts of fuel I burn and alchool I do consume on occasion I definately don't feel guilty on using this search and rescue service. I think I pay dues to society quite well. Sorry I hurt your feelings Jack, I will try to consider you next time I do something stupid. I love this country for the fact that we can all have an opinion and we can all say it OUT LOUD.

I would say we found the edge that weekend, when the boat doesn't make it back to the trailler you have found the edge. Like i said before I'd do it again, I'd just make sure we have a better pump and ez-clean to keep the water flowing.

Thanks for relating your experience. I am new to the ranks and reading about situations such as the one you were involved in adds to my limited knowledge of boats and wild water.

I have a shirt from meanchicken.net that says "Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go" You guys are livin' the dream...

Trip sounds remeniscent of Bill Hamilton on the Colorado River. His team lost a boat too. I'm sure someone miserable would suggest he was on drugs too. Rolling Eyes

A guy can not tell another man what to do, or not to do. Jack is able to voice his opinion, just like every other man, its a free Country. If Jack was smart he would voice his opinions to himself, his wife, or to a buddy. You can not tell an Alberta man what to do or what not to do, unless you're asking for trouble. Only a foolish man or boy would do that.
I can not speak for all guy's on this Forum, jet boating for some men is what defines them. I'm sure nothing gives some of them more pleasure, or thrills (right Hooli). Telling him he is to dangerous or takes to many chances is like putting him in a prision. We all enjoy our freedom, governments already have enough rules out there telling use you can't do that or you can't go there.
Now when an individual tells you, you can't do this or that, they have no right and should watch their tongue. I would never tell a Jet Boater what to do. If an individual wants to take the risk, who is going to hold him back, who is going to stick this nose into his business, not me.
I don't want to say anything bad about Jack, I'm not out here to chastice him, just here to hold up our freedoms as jet boaters.

Boat came back, although not as it left the trailer. But nothing like a good scrubbing and a few thousand wouldn't fix. It all buffs off in the end, it's an aluminum boat.
