Here's video footage of the 502 Chevrolet Big Block in my 1999 Eagle 21ft. tunnel finally coming to life for the first time (freshly rebuilt from Davenport)   .

That is a very nice and quick start up for a new engine.. Sound the biz and looks the ducks nuts.. Cheers JR |

As soon as the carburetor got it's fuel it fired to life. It even idles nice and smooth as well (no vibrations even with the solid mounts), my props to Davenport (even though it was pretty expensive). |

Two batteries hooked together helps as well ,... I need to go and buy a good battery for it now, since the one in it is rated at 550CCA  . |

You will need a hole lot more than that.. When i started my Ford XF i needed a 900 cca ,, And is still hard to start cold.. But i have only got 5 hours on the clock.. But it was very tight from new had the wrong back bearing cap on ( What a diff 2 mills makes..).. Cheers JR  |

Those Optima Batteries seem to be trouble free, but they are HEAVY.  |

Here's some new footage from today http://media.putfile.com/128_2837, my Dad and I finnished plumming the water fittings and hoses, all we have left is to mount the seats, fix the steering, wire in a fuse and we should be flying' for next weekend. I'll post a video of it's shake down on the water.
Edit: We fired it up with just one battery this time, ....no problem . |
