Can anyone tell me why my impeller is pitting like this. SJ high skew. Every blade is pitted in the exact same spot. My stock 3blade has stains or burn marks in the same spots.

It's caused by cavitation which is when i"supersonic" shock waves are created when air is seperated from the water. You need to find out what is causing the cavitation. Give Dale a call at Outlaw Eagle and he should be able to help you.

Thanks, I thought I had read that on here somewhere, just making sure. Does this look like it is cavitating badly?

It looks bad enough that something needs to be done but it also depends on how many hours it took for the impeller to look that way.

YEP, THAT'S CAVITION! 90% OR MORE CAVITATION PROBLEMS ARE CAUSED BECAUSE OF LACK OF WATER TO THE IMPELLER. TOO SMALL OF GRATE, MESSED UP GRATE, ROUGH BOTTOM OF BOAT CAUSING TURBULENCE IN THE SMOOTH FLOW OF WATER TO THE IMPELLER.COULD BE A FEW OTHER THINGS BUT LOOK TO THE SUCTION SIDE OF YOUR PUMP. GOOD LUCK.

thanks for the input. the bottom of the boat is a little chewed up and the transition from hull to the intake was not designed very well.

another place for air to get in is at the back of the easy clean between the plate and the bottom of the boat , sometimes need a little bead of sealant to stop it .
