OK I feel a little better now. What do you think of these numbers for bar hoppin, 5400 RPM 68 MPH (GPS) down river with a stainless A impeller? The LS2 is estimated at approx 550 HP and torque at that RPM.

With a 'B' I'm sure you would see 75mph.

That would make the beer taste better...hope you are right. We are making a plan to get the kinks worked out this spring. Unfortunately I had a few computer issues last season and never really got a chance to figure her out!

Hey you guys may already have taken care of this but there is an online site where you can take the boat test and get your license mailed to you. www.powerboatexam.com sorry not sure how to do the url thing![/url]

Hmmm...guess I do?

Just remember you will lose 'out of the hole performance'with the 'B'.....it's not terrible, but it will suck more gas and take some getting used to, to get on step! That's when the diverter really shine's.

4play....you are riding on a delta pad , so hole shot is not a hugh problem, and it will be way better with the 383, B impellor = higher rpm,so more top speed, more gas, A impellor = better holeshot, lower max rpm so lower top speed, but lower cruising rpm, maybe less gas

when towing ,even the roost from the stock nozzel will clean the freckels off your ol ladies belly if your not carefull, your kids will hate it, cuz it hurts, and not want to go, so you end up at the mother in laws to keep piece in the family, make a sacrifice, but livable, and you will get to go a lot more.

bin there (god,I sound like dr. phil)

17 ft delta,383,a+, rum and a woody!

Top Dawg, no not that pic - I was talking about the Blonde who's playin' with her "twin turbo's" he he .. Very Happy

I think I'm gonna stick with the A S/S, but I'm still debating this Diverter thing. While I don't quite drive like Xero in his Brazeau vid (I try and make sure there's at least some water flowing over the rocks LOL) I have been known for going places where I probally shoudn't in this boat. Sometimes on purpose, other times cause it's just what you have to do to get from A to B.

Having issues cracking or screwing up my diverter running across spots is something I'd like to try and avoid, especially 50 some odd miles upstream etc. I really appreciate all the opinions and advise, and think alot of setup etc really comes down to what you want to do with the boat, and where you mainly run.

I don't pull anything behind me (tubes etc), and usually use my other boat on the lake if I really have that need to drive miles to wait in line at launches. This machine is 95% used just on the river, and for us to go exploring on them. This year will be lots of new rivers and uncharted territory for us going to all them rally's & races' etc.

Bald Man, I tried to PM you but got errors - so give me shout or email me. (that's stuff in my profile) I'm interested in setting up the boat with the short noz for spring. I'll probally wedge it a bit, play with my trim tabs and run that for now. Easy to change etc, and I can carry my stock nozz as a spare & change it with minimal work.

Stupid winter ... Oh well, even the Wife like's watching the World's DVD's over and over ...

Oh, here's a cheezy vid I made a while ago for a bud down in Houston - Just thought I'd link it here so you'd see how flat it stays outa the hole at present. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-xNrPfIuHg

Well here's a follow up - got the paintjob done, new seats & stereo for the wife, had the boys in RD do the pump/impeller & put the nozzle on - and I finally got the engine in. Took her out on the weekend for a rip and sure feels like a different boat.

Dale had told me I'd see about 4700 with the ZZ383 & the SS A, well he was right on the money. I'm still tuning it, but first out thats exactly what it did.

I was thinking that Berk graph would see me about 5K, but just have to assume the chart was made by an engineer LOL ... Very Happy

This old delta still seems to ride a little wet, but still was pulling 65 down & 61 up on the North Sask with a couple of us in the boat with the usual gear. One surprise was the fuel usage, staying around 3800 to cruise the range seems very close to the the 350 I had. That's real good news - since I don't have saddle tanks ..

I could probally pick up a few rpms with a B, but I'm going to stick with the A and look at few other things. The wife happy, the boy's still got perma-grin from the roost, and I picked up a bit more speed - all in all a good investment. Thanks again for all your input.

Just wish I had it all together in time to run up to the GP rally, but we'll be in Whitecourt for sure.

Garett
