Some of you guys know that Rob is getting trained up to fly a helicopter.
This is without a doubt the ultimate toy, bar none.
We had the best motorized ride of my life yesterday. Flew out of Calgary to the Spray Lakes area and did some real cool flying, with the instructor at the controls (thank god, if there is one).
Not much action. Let's add a boating flavour. How about the great video action that will be had out of this thing. |

Ya we have the Rhino for doing a bit of trail riding in BC. They are the catz azz for that sort of thing. There is no limit on what you can spend on these things. Like these ones!!

Maybe with Rob flying a helicopter we'll have better luck finding one to film our races. _________________ It's always the Navigators fault! |

the thing with choppers is if your motor fails, you die. you racers may be used to this type of thinking but i dont think i could trully enjoy the ride with that thought lingering in my head. the beauty of paragliding is theres no motor and we launch, soar, and land without any machinery or even metal. this means mechanical failures basically dont happen. but for those who need to use throttle i just found out about these things, pretty cool, retract landing gear, folding prop for thermal soaring, and it all cost a whopping 10,000$ for everything.

the video called launching and landing reminded me of you guys cause hes landing on a frozen lake! |

That's totally not true. With enough altitude the chopper can and will auto rotate safely to the ground. During flight training you are required to perform auto rotations and if your a commercial pilot you must perform auto rotations every 6 months during your check out ride. _________________ Life is Great. For a real thrill, try an auto-rotation as a passenger.
Good for Rob! For an idea of what it's like, picture operating an excavator that flys, both hands, both feet to control it. _________________ -Jesse |

BUT, I'd not be liking autorotaing from here.
Some great videos will be done in the future. |
